Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a Rutherfurd Medico-legal report take to complete?

This depends on the case and the doctor, but a typical IME, JME or Medical Negligence case will take roughly 1-2 weeks.

Is there an extra cost for an ‘express report’?

Our express report service (2 day turn around), is of no extra charge to your firm. Typically, we do ask that some warning be given on the time constraints of your case. We are happy to work with you in order to meet the requirements of your deadline.

What is a ‘Telehealth assessment’?

Telehealth assessments are the same as regular assessments, but take place online via zoom, or a tele-health service provider. All our medical specialists are happy to do reports via Telehealth, should this suit your client.

Shouldn’t the doctor see my client in person?

Although it is often the case that our specialist will need to assess a claimant in person, we will be able to guide you as to which cases are appropriate to be done as tele-health, and which assessments should be done in person. If you have any further questions as to which assessment would be best for your client, send an email to admin@rutherfurdmedicolegal.com and we will answer your enquiry as soon as possible.

Do you do assessments Australia wide?

Currently, we offer in-person assessments exclusively within Victoria. However, for clients located outside of Victoria, we offer tele-health consultations, ensuring you have access to our expert services no matter where you are in Australia.
